killer style // catherine sheppard
Sometimes something moves you so much, you just have to share.
Lately, I am IN LOVE with Catherine Sheppard of The Life Styled.
She is a fashion stylist in LA and shares awesome inspiration on her blog.
Her fashion posts are seriously killer though. Inspiring in every way. So well thought out.
Enjoy her. Let her know if you love her too!

a bold & simple outfit
I'm all about polka dots these days. Such a cute and simple way to make a statement, but they're classic. I just bought these awesome shorts by Lauren Conrad. I loved pairing them with my Leona pendant and a basic tee.
shorts by Lauren Conrad for Kohl's // Leona Pendant by Stella & Dot // basic tee at Target
**for the record, yes, I did sell Stella & Dot. no, I will not make money off this link. I have stopped selling it.

kiddo styles: lightbulb moment
Have you ever had a lightbulb moment?
Oh! I totally get it! I can see clearly now!
I've had a few lately and I have to say, it's been quite a relief.
But don't forget, it isn't really about the lightbulb moment...
It's about what you do about it!
I super adore these lightbulb tees from Mini Boden. I get the catalog in the mail and it is always full of inspiration, not to mention adorable babies and kids. They've really got something good going on.

color theory: red and pink
Red and pink: unexpected, yet predictable.
Red and pink are analogic on the color wheel. In other words, they are next to each other. Using shades of one color always looks good, but adventuring into the next analogic color is a little dangerous. You have to get just the right shades. This warm combo has me totally smitten. The perfect neon magenta with a bright fire engine red. Brilliant.
Where to try it?
Your fingernails, with your red jeans, in your next print design, in your kitchen would be lovely.

branding genius: blushington
For a few years now, I've been pretty obsessed with the idea of branding and how it can really have a huge impact on a business's success. Having a cute logo is only part of the genius branding equation. Other factors such as a strong brand idea and brand strategy are equally, if not more, important.
When I came across Blushington, I fell in LOVE. The idea behind Blushington is basically that our makeup is an extension of us as women and that we shouldn't see it as just a luxury. I don't know about you, but I would just about die to have a personal makeup artist do my makeup everyday and this brand wants to make that happen at an affordable price. For only $20 for an "on-the-go" makeup look, a girl can't go wrong!
When I saw the storefront, I was instantly smitten. How adorable! The blush pink color and the beautiful windows and logo on the door would draw me in immediately. They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but they never said anything about storefronts!
Currently in West Hollywood, we can only hope there is room for expansion! We all need one of these!
Check out Blushington's website and Facebook page. AND their recent feature at the Glitter Guide.

i love... inslee
I'm always insanely jealous of people who can draw. When I was a kid, I wanted to be an illustrator. Turns out even my stick figures could use some work. Lately I've become so enamored with fashion illustrations. Time and time again, I go back to Inslee's site just to check out her newest sketches. I love to wait a little bit, so there's a bunch of new ones for me to google over at a time. Her sketches are so incredibly effortless and the colors she uses make my heart seriouusly skip a beat. She's got a lovely shop where you can purchase her work as notecards, calendars or prints. Check her out and give her some love.
Here are some of her most recent illustrations...
Don't you just LOVE them?! I know I do.
